Chuck Bridwell, now retired from full time music ministry, was Minster of Music at Columbus Avenue Baptist Church in Waco, Texas for eleven years. The music ministry at Columbus Avenue included nine choirs, an orchestra, plus several vocal and instrumental ensembles involving over 500 musicians.

Previous to his ministry in Waco, he was Minister of Music at University Baptist Church in Coral Gables, Florida, for almost 24 years.  In his 43 years of full time ministry Mr. Bridwell also served at First Baptist Church of Paducah, Kentucky, and Trinity Baptist Church in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Chuck is now consulting with traditional and blended churches with his service of ideas and encouragement, Music Ministry Tune Up.  He also consults with churches on major music productions.

Chuck, a native of Fort Worth, Texas, earned a Bachelor of Music degree from Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, Oklahoma, and a Master of Church Music degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas.

He has been President of the Singing Churchmen of Oklahoma, Florida Baptist Singing Men, Florida Baptist Church Music Conference and Singing Men of North Central Texas. In addition he has also served twice on the Executive Council of the Baptist Church Music Conference. He has taught as adjunct church music faculty at Baylor University in Waco, Texas, as well as serving on the Board of Advisors for the Center for Christian Music Studies at Baylor.

Mr. Bridwell, serving as Executive Director for each, founded the Miami Christmas Pageant and the Waco Christmas Celebration.  He has also directed the Waco Easter Pageant, which has been produced at Waco Hall on the campus of Baylor University.

Chuck has musical arrangements published by Shawnee Press, Monarch Music, Fred Bock Music, Genevox Music, Coral Key Music and Alfred Music.  In addition he has had articles and contributions published in several books and periodicals.  He is a member of ASCAP (American Society of Composer, Authors and Publishers).

Chuck and his wife, Debbie, have been married over 40 years.  They have two married daughters and six grandchildren.  While their daughters were still at home the Bridwell family also had seven foster children, one at a time, over a period of eight years.

In his spare time Chuck enjoys playing basketball regularly and making occasional attempts at golf.  He also enjoys spectator sports live and on television such as football, basketball, baseball, softball, tennis and volleyball.  Travel and photography are hobbies also.  He has served as a special interest speaker on cruise ships for over 20 years and loves to lead groups on tours.

The Bridwells now reside in Gainesville, Georgia, where they moved to be nearer their children and grandchildren who are in Atlanta and Greenville, South Carolina.
